Inner Development Goals

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) are a concept that focuses on personal development and inner transformation in order to better tackle the major challenges of our time - such as climate change, social injustice and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They emphasize that real change is not only achieved through external action, but also by strengthening our inner capabilities.

What are the IDGs about?

The IDGs are based on the idea that we need to change not only the world around us, but also our own way of thinking, feeling and acting. By working on ourselves and developing our inner qualities, we will be better able to have a positive impact on our communities and the world around us.

The IDGs cover five central areas:

  1. BeingThis is about mindfulness, self-awareness and emotional intelligence. It means being present and developing a deep awareness of yourself and others.
  2. ThinkingThis dimension promotes critical thinking and creativity. It is about understanding the complexity of the world and finding innovative solutions.
  3. RelatedRelationships play a major role. This is about showing empathy, building trust and feeling connected to others.
  4. CollaboratingGood cooperation and team spirit are crucial. This dimension emphasizes working together and solving problems in communities.
  5. ActingIt is about acting courageously and responsibly. People should take the initiative and actively bring about change.

Why are the IDGs important?

The Inner Development Goals help us not only to tackle external challenges, but also to grow internally. They help us to work better together, think more sustainably and act more decisively. This is the only way we can create long-term change that benefits both our planet and people.

At TEIKEI, we emphasize these inner development goals because we believe that real change starts from within. By strengthening our inner capabilities, together we can create a more sustainable and equitable future.
