Information Asymmetry and Transparency at TEIKEI
When multiple actors are involved, the problem of information asymmetry often arises. This means there is an unequal distribution of information or power and decision-making capacities, which in turn influences individual participation opportunities. In many systems, these inequalities are hard to identify because information flows are not deliberately organized and promoted.
Honest and genuine transparency requires a deep awareness of the needs and opportunities of all participants. At TEIKEI Olive, we ensure a high level of transparency through regular exchange between all actors. To keep the effort for communication and collaboration manageable, we form the smallest possible teams, which regularly exchange within different responsibility circles.
To further enhance transparency for our members, we aim to hold open (online) discussions about TEIKEI Olive and its various economic sectors. Actions such as oil-filling events and personal visits by TEIKEI Olive members to the producers also contribute to this transparency.
